Thursday 5th March 2026 from 1pm

Protected Learning Time (PLT)

All Greensand Health Centre branches – Linton, Loose and Headcorn – as well as the Linton Walk-In Clinic will be closed from 1:00 pm on Thursday 5th March 2026 for Protected Learning Time (PLT). We will reopen as normal on Friday 6th March 2026.

Why are we closing?

We understand that an afternoon closure can be inconvenient for some patients. However, this protected time is essential for GP practices. It allows our entire team — both clinical and non-clinical — to complete mandatory training that cannot take place during normal surgery hours. This helps us continue to deliver safe, high-quality care.

What services remain available?

📞 Automated telephone services

  • Cancel appointments

  • Access mental health self-referral information

These services are available 24/7 via our usual practice telephone number. 📱 The NHS App The NHS App is the quickest and easiest way to manage many GP services during the closure. You can:

  • Order repeat prescriptions

  • View test results

  • Check messages from your GP surgery

Minor illnesses? Your local pharmacy can help

For many common conditions, your local pharmacy can offer advice and treatment without the need to see a GP, including:

  • Coughs and colds

  • Sore throats

  • Sinus infections

  • Skin conditions or flare-ups

  • Earache or eye infections

Under the Pharmacy First scheme, patients can self-refer directly to a pharmacy for advice and treatment.
